Dr. Dan Arreaza-Kaufman is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. He completed his glaucoma fellowship at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s leading centers for eye care. With extensive training in complex cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and ocular surface tumors, he is dedicated to delivering advanced treatment options with compassionate, patient-centered care.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela Dr. Arreaza-Kaufman earned his medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident. He also trained as a research fellow at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, focusing on ocular surface tumors and advancing his expertise in corneal disease and ocular surgery.
Dr. Arreaza-Kaufman has published extensively on glaucoma, ocular surface disease, and corneal surgery, and has presented his research at both national and international conferences. His special interests include minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), complex cataract procedures, and advanced medical and surgical glaucoma care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Arreaza-Kaufman enjoys running, spending time with his family, and volunteering in his community. He is fluent in English and Spanish, which allows him to connect with and care for a diverse patient population across South Florida.
